I'm renovating the rear area of my 77 Eleganza and noticed the furnace supply duct that runs around the drivers side of the coach, across the back, and then up to the bathroom and register under the 'bed'.

However, no air is moving through the duct. On the front (toward the driver) of the furnace are two outlets, a 4" that goes to the register under the DAVO, and a 2" that was obviously capped of by a PO. I do not see any of the 2" flexible supply line but ASSUME that this capped off area is where the hose is SUPPOSED to connect??? Seems odd that the supply line would come off the 'wrong' side. Is there another connection hidden under the cabinets? My shop manuals (75-76 maintenance and 77-78 Supplement) do not describe the duct runs.

I also assume there is a 'TEE' in back of the bathroom (Propane tank box) to feed both the bathroom vent AND the register under the bed area (I assume this once was set up for rear facing settee's

Anyone got any insight for me? I'd just as soon address this area now while I've got all the bed framing off.

Originally there was another blower motor fed from the 2" outlet. It supplied air to the bathroom. It was useless and when boondocking, used more battery to accomplish nothing. It appears as though your PO removed it just as many owners have done.

If you do find the extra blower, check for proper rotation. Rumor is many rotated in reverse due to color code misunderstanding. I have a 77 and nothing out bath vent as well.

Hi Kerry

The 1977 models (and perhaps other years) had a small booster blower located right behind the stove that connects to the 2" duct hose that goes around the back of the motorhome to the bath. It is of dubious value and some have removed it or disconnected the electric wire to it as if is often noisy and takes more power when boondocking.

You have to pull the stove forward to get to this blower.

On both the eleganza and the kingsley the extra fan motor is located at the
rear on the drivers side. Right under the head of our bed. Noisey it is.
Iplan ln moving them forward.

I had not seen it in that place. As I indicated in my email in my 1977 Kingsley it was located directly behind the stove. Mine is a late model 1977 with a 455 engine.

Just yesterday I noticed that booster fan behind the stove on the rescued
'76 Eleganza.

Well, if someone figures out a way to heat the bath with our furnace, let me know. I just get in and out as fast as I can when showering, shoving the door open as soon as the water is turned off. We have the heater duct coming though the closet wall into the bedroom. No chance to get the air under the bed and around to the bath so why waste the effort. A little air under the bed to help keep the water tank from freezing is good. When the outside temp is 12 degrees that bath can get cool early in the mornings. I leave the door cracked all night. Our 74 never had the booster fan. It would have been yanked anyway when we did the new furnace.
Just a minor inconvience in my book. I kinda like Teri keeping the door open when she finishes with the water. Very Happy
Dan
