First, thanks to all who have tried to help with my intake manifold woes. (If you are considering purchasing a GMC, don't let this discourage you. It is all worth it.)

For those who may not know, our new engine has been gulping oil at a quart every 400+ miles. We did a 5400 mile jaunt, and dumped in about 12 quarts. It is not dripping and it is not leaking. It is going through the engine.

The intake manifold seemed to be the culprit. I put it on with help the first time, by myself three times and once by the engine re-builder.

Happily it was discovered that there was a defect in the first manifold and the situation was made right. (Hurray for JimK) I finished the 6th and hopefully last installation today. I must say I am getting pretty good at this and it settled in very nicely. When I was plugging the wires onto the module I was having trouble seating it. I gave a last push and the three pins (7 pin module)bent down. I got a screw driver and bent them up. The engine would not start. No spark according to the timing light.

I put in my spare (always carry a spare) and it started instantly.

Don't bend the pins on your module.
