75 455. My "extra" coach, starts up fine, idles smooth, but starts shaking when put in gear. Not driving, just sitting.
Any quick thoughts before I tear into this? This has been sitting for at least 3 years I've been told. Thanks.

My bet would be a combination of a bad miss from sitting so long "unstored" and a bad engine mount.

Take it out on the road and see if you have a miss. No load it won't be as noticable as in drive. Could just be a fouled plug you can clear with some WOT runs. If that doesn't do it after a try or 2, then start diagnosing cap, wires, plugs. Hopefully it's electrical (ignition) and not mechanical, though a valve could be sticky. If so, you will burn the valve if you keep driving. A good ear by the exhaust and by carb can usually do a quick diagnosis of this vs ignition missfire. Letting them sit is worse than driving them for motorhomes and collector cars.

I think the key here is it doesn't shake until you put it in drive. Let it
run until hot, then check the fluid level in the transmission. Does it
behave the same in reverse?

Thank you. All good things to consider. I have not been able to take it out on the road cause it's not yet registered. The supreme government of the state of Florida wants almost $300. for a tag and that does not include insurance. Likely I will put the tag from my other coach on it. They will never know the difference. One GMC, two GMC's ?
