Well the GMC made it from Houston to Dallas. It only had a few hic-ups as she did not like to be pushed hard if you were already at 55-60. I seems the same fuel starving issue but after figure that out just cruised at 55-65mph. Made it just fine so can't complain. So will be working more on that later now just relaxing at Texas Motor Speedway and looking forward to a fun weekend. Oh well got some work to do before the fun starts. Thanks to everyone here as would not have made it without you guys.

I had a similar problem, it wasn't major but after 65 it was have just a slight
hesitation.
Last spring I had my carb rebuilt by Dick Patterson, when I went to remove the
carb the nuts were literally only hand tight......that very well could have been
my hesitation problem.
Upon installing the rebuilt carb and torquing it per instructions, it ran
perfect.

Be careful not to over torque the carb bolts as it will warp the carb and it will be junk. From the 7525 Manual: "Torque mounting bolts diagonally to 48-96 in. lbs, then when all four are torqued, retorque diagonally to 12-17 ft. lbs..."

It has been about 2 years since Charley bought the GMC from me. This coach is one of the reasons GEMRECS went into business. As the name stated "GMC Motorhome Reclamation Services", one of my objectives was to keep GMCs on the road and to enable other GMCs to be made roadworthy which otherwise were just sitting.
Charley's coach was one of four that in my view were too good to part out. I have another Edgemonte that we intend to put back on the road as well-for us. I do not know the status of the one other that I sold. None were sold for more that $4,000. Charley is technically very knowledgeable and has brought this coach up to speed mostly himself. He worked on it at my shop-driving all the way from Magolia to East Houston when his company did not have him in Dubai. Eventually, he drove it home.
Another Edgemonte was sold to an aircraft mechanic near Killeen Texas. He too, came here worked on it on weekends and drove it home. Another coach was sold to a company in Colorado for elec. vehicle experimentation.
I am happy for Charley and his family. I loved what Gemrecs was doing and almost every day I think about doing it again but it took a lot of money and I needed to be able to hire someone to do the heavy lifting, but could not due to the cost of overhead. Also, we lost our transporter, Vern, who was killed in a tractor accident at his residence in Mississippi. Perhaps someone will take up the reigns to get more of these coaches out of retirement and back to active duty...........Michael

Well made it back to Houston and met another GMCer while I was there (Larry). Thanks again for all the information that Larry was kind enough to share. Also for taking a look at the carb as it looks like I am due for a rebuild. Of coarse after seeing Larry's GMC it gives me more things that I would like to do to mine. Michael was kind enough to sell me my Edgemont and help me out when I was trying to revive her. We had a great time camping out and kids love our GMC. Michael I hope we can get together sometime.
