Bought transmission filter kit. Does not have "O" ring in kit. Will not take old out until I have a replacement. What is the correct size? I am guessing that an assortment may have a close fit, but I would like to know which size and the correct material. Is there a direct part number?
Going to install Rockwell pan, SS transmission lines, and temperature gauge when I have all the parts in the same place.

O-ring should have been in the box. Yours is incomplete! I would
take it back to the store that you purchased it from and have them fit
an O-ring or order another filter. The best one now is an ATP part#
B-40. Jim B recommends this filter.

Tom I just went thru this with my Trans. When i changed the filter i bought a Advance auto parts chinnese filter. The oring that came with it broke during the installation somehow(Unknown to me)and was sucking some air. My trans wouldn't engage properly. It did fine after it engaged but sent me looking in other directions. Anyway I was installing a Ragusa pan and decided even tho i had changed the filter i ordered a new filter from ATP and it came with 2 O-Rings in the kit so i put both O-Rings on as one of my trans buddies suggested and now no more problems and i turned the intake spout down some to utilize the extra quart of oil the new pan holds. I cant belive the filter has no retaining bolt to hold the filter in place but it seems to have been working for GM for years.
Ex Avion now looking for a 23'
