Wow is that nice!
It's in the perfect driving position now.

I can see my gauges and everything. I have gauges below that dash and an S-10 steering wheel. All visible now.

only one problem, my transmission gear indicator doesnt work anymore, the wire is too short.

Any sage advice on how to fix that?

You simply need to use a longer piece of wire or string. I used some heavy dental floss to make the connection when I lowered my column.

I do agree that the lowered wheel makes the driving position much nicer.

I elongated the slot using a Dremel tool.

I raised my driver's seat 3 inches instead. Teri can't reach the pedals now. 2 problems solved at once.
Life is good.

Is there a documented process for this? Based on the 100 miles so far on my 'new' coach, I'm going to have to do something. Long legs and a high leather seat make the steering wheel a bit too far away...even for my long arms. I was thinking about a dished steering wheel.

here are some

http://gmcmotorhome.info/steering.htm#LOWER
http://www.bdub.net/curtis-unlimited/2010_List_w_Prices.pdf

one thing to look out for is
- as you lower the steering column the the spline comes up out of the
steering joints
- don't go too far
- and this may be stuck

good luck

Instructions came with the bracket.
It's only 4 bolts to remove, and 8 to replace.
It's really simple.

The only improvement I could recommend on the lowering kit would be to have someone fabricate a filler piece for the area left empty after the steering column is lowered!
