Just watching an episode of "My Classic Car" and there was a commercial
from Grundy saying that they now offer agreed value insurance on
non-collector cars through their MVP program.

Which classic car insurer are you using? I have other vehicles on J.C. Taylor, but they would not insure the GMC. I have an agreed value policy with Progressive now, but the premium is a bit high...

just got Progressive RV ins renewal for my GMC ($331/YEAR). I thought I had agreed value coverage but reading close this time, the amount shown is a "Rating Base" of $20K. In a total loss they would pay the "Actual Cash Value" at the time of loss or the base whichever is less. I asked how do you determine actual cash value? They answered guides like KBB or NADA for starters. Well NADA lists only 78 GMCs at a Avg. retail value of $1,450. Adding options bumps it up another $1k! Right, just try & find even a parts coach for that. We need to get after NADA to start showing a realistic avg retail price. Well knowing that we have to fight to show comp sales etc. should we ever have a loss a higher "book value" would help to start the process.
