Been doing it for ten years. No downside and engine doesn't get ant dirtier than with them in AFAICT. Upside is the engine runs cooler, the carb gets cooler air, the fuel lines see a bit cooler air and in case of an engine fire you can reach the top of the engine from the wheel wells.

does anyone run all the time with their Wheel wells out?
i have been for a while now and curious if it helps or hurts. Other than the water splashing on the bottom of the floor are there any other cons.
Ive only driven mine once in the rain, so no scolding .
