Looks like one of the coaches that had an overly ambitious new owner... and never really used it.
Rebuilt motor that has never been started...Hmmm, not something that I would rely on... until it has been proven.
If it was closer, and I had the space, I would offer $500. I bet they would think about it for a week or two, them call back taking the offer.
Transportation would be the major expense obtaining this coach.

Can somebody tell me the permissible load on 'house trailer' tires and axles? I have an old implement trailer with ramps the PO used for hauling his (smallish) bulldozer and or backhoe. If I measured right, I know a 23' will fit on it. I think you might get a 26' we'd have to try. But, if tandem axles will hold the weight, I'll go ahead and rehab it, and it will be available for anybody who wants to haul a cach and has a pickup capable of towing the weight and a brake controller. I'm thinking F-350/D3500/Silver Adoo 3500 ought to be up to the task.

While I would not call it a show stopper, I recently found out that most of these axles are designed to be one time use, to deliver the manufactured home... once.
While I'd think that if you stayed well below the designed weight, these axles should last just fine. (But I am not an expert.) Does anyone know about the bearings and longevity?
While looking, I noticed parts for brakes and stuff seem hard to find. (There is a tilting car trailer for sale near here that is made with mobile home axles... it seemed "too" cheaply priced.)

Johnny,
Here's a forum where some of the participants seem to know what they're
talking about; doesn't sound promising (one-time use axles ???):

I'l check. This guy had used is for quite some time. He parked it because he had stuffed it in a ditch and bent one axle. He left it when I bought the place, and pointed out, there's a new axle with it waiting to be bolted on.
Most trailer parts (axles, fenders, bearings, backing plates, etxc.) can be found around here at Tractor Supply. Have a look in their catalog also.

Thanks. I'll go review. The guy had used the trailer for several years without problems.

I would not haul that with only two mobile home axels any distance at all. I would think three would be needed.
I hauled mine on a trailer:
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/member-galleries/p46176-hauling-gmc.html
we thought it was legally overweight for that trailer. It only has 4 tires. It towed fine, and I think it would never had a problem, and gone anywhere unless we got pulled over by the authorities.
getting it up on that trailer required inflating the airbags 110% and using 2x6's to help the belly clear as it went up.

Re trailer axles. Common do it your self trailer axles are 3500 lbs per axle. There are also 6000 pound axles. A trailer with 3 6000 pound axles would be a nice device for recovering GMCs. I know in Ontario one would need a "special" driver's licence to tow a trailer with a GMC motorhome on the trailer as it is most likely the weight on the trailer wheels would be over 10,500 pouns (trailer+GMC motorhome) In Ontario to tow a trailer over 10.500 pounds requires an A or A restricted licence. I've heard this does NOT apply if the trailer is an RV. (have also heard it DOES apply)
