Anyone ever worked on a 1998 Blazer transfer case.
Mine has a front seal leaking and that allowed 2.5 quarts of trans fluid to fill the transfer case. Since I have 200,000 miles on the Blazer, I do not know over what period of time it took to fill the transfer case. I drained 2.5 quarts out of the fill hole yesterday. I'm trying to figure out if there is a second seal in the rear of the trans. I also trying to figure out if there is a gasket between the transfer case and the trans. The parts book I have does not show one.
I'm trying to get all of the parts before I actually drop the transfer case. The case is a NP 233C hung on the back of a 4L60E transmission on a 1998 Blazer.
I'm also trying to decide if I can just let it leak and drain it every 6,000 miles when I change oil.

I just had the same transfer case off my 4L60E in my 95 Sonoma as part of replacing a rusted out rear freeze plug in the engine. There is a gasket between the trans and transfer case. Gasket is GM # 15642511. I could only find it at the dealer. Not sure about there being a second seal at the rear of the trans.

Thanks Mike. That is exactly what I needed. With that part number I was able to find a diagram on line and the picture shows that is the gasket.
Thanks.
