Of the 6 senders, that I have "looked at", all
- have been ok (needed to be repaired)
- had to be removed to be repaired (solder the connection)
- did not need to be replaced
- none were leaking
- replaced gasket (JimK)

SO
if your sender (in either tank) fails, you can
1 connect the drains and use the one remaining sender for both tanks (JimB
accessory)

2 cut a hole in the floor and just remove and repair the sender

3 drop the tanks (UGH) and
- repair the lines,
-senders,
-vents,
-etc
