Man wanted to go to this since I never was able to before. But decided to go to the Consumer Elect Show, and can't afford more off time in Jan. Bummer

We are not just thinking about it; we plan on the trip! Recognizing the cost of gas and the few nights left to prepare, I have two 55 gallon drums, a siphon hose, and an electric fuel pump. With only a little over 90 days left I only need to steal about a gallon a night to be ready! Ha, ha! I can kill two birds with one siphon hose; a gallon a day from my wife's car will meet my GMC fuel needs (if I leave full and return empty). The wife will be a real easy sell for a new Prius if she has to fill up every few days and if I remind her Dan and Teri now have a Prius.
I love it when a plan comes together!

You have to think BIG. About a week ago someone hit one of the local farmers for 2700 gallons of gasoline. I could make it to Quartzsite a few times on that.
Craponol blended gasoline was $3.25 here to day.

The price of fuel is down here also but not down enough. Now, if I could figure out a way to put a bath in the new hybrid I might drive out to Q for a couple of weeks. Man, I miss that place. What is it that attracts so many rvers to such a desolate place? I am often asked just that. Must be the total lack of stress from any kind of schedule, for a month. Free camping and lots of great friends. Not to mention the week long ham radio festival. Our last two trips I have lost engines. Folks tell me to stay away from that place. Well, we are headed back next winter. Should we lose another engine there, well, it might be our last GMC trip there but I plan to make many more treks to Quartzsite. That is a place, in January, where life is really good..
Have fun without me just this one more time. Then, you can't keep me out of there in January.

First let me say I'm not going to dignify the last comment in that other thread-- this net is certainly not here for one person and it's also not here to try and rag someone down. I already said I was sorry for bringing up the immature crap someone brought up about Jim K., come to find out this guy had created troubles before, my wife said he had bought something from us and gave us crap about it like he did with Jim K.. I don;t really know who this guy is and now really do not care. If there are other people out there wishing to muddy the water, I think from all of us our best way is to totally ignore them-- thats what I'm going to do. He sent me another off line post, I am not going to even look at it!
So on to Quartzite, my number 1 sales guy for Fire Fight Products, Mac the fire Guy, invited me to help him out there at Quartzite this year. I'm thinking about going-- sure sounds like a hoot out there in the blowing sand. Mac does a great business at Quartzite and wants to really hit those bricks this year. I'll let you know as things progress,
Jim Bounds

I sure won't park near you Doug. We hope to get to Quartzite the month of January but stay at a campground in nearby Blythe.

We are planning a trip to CA in January to see our new grandson. Like last year, we might stop off in Q for an overnighter, but there will not be much time to socialize. Just a day in the big tent and swap meets will be about all we will be able to squeeze in, if that.
Last year, when we did this, we camped in the free area down at Mile Marker 99, south of town. I think a couple of other GMCers spotted us on the way into town, but we didn't see anyone we recognized at the show.
We might take a different route home this time, in which case I don't know when, or even if, we would be there. The plan is to catch the Saguaro Jetset rally, in Casa Grande, on the way home
