I am sure you guys already know how phenomenal the service is from Applied GMC. As a newbie, I just found out today.
Yesterday morning, my mechanic called to tell me my bent trans pan was not going to be flattenable with the technology we have; that I needed a new pan before proceeding upon the road.
So I called Applied GMC (after reviewing the website from a pointer here), and ordered a pan. At about 9:00 am.
And now, today, one day later, Fed Ex delivered my sparkling shiny new heavy Rockwell pan. Within like like 29 hours of when I first contemplated buying one.
How's THAT for customer service!

Jim K. will get you a part over night when necessary. Now that he is using Fed Ex over night that usually means the next morning.

I just got off the phone and have calmed down after calling a guy who sent me an Email telling me how ALL of the GMC vendors and even seminar presenters at the rallies were spreading lies that -- that we were ripping off people in the GMC community, overpricing parts and not treating the community right. The reason I called him was I did not want to write down what I wanted to say to him! Jim K. does a great justice for us all having all of these parts available, prices are not out of line in fact when you consider the fact that he is there, knows what you are looking for and is knowledgable on what you are doing--- that is a priceless situation.
Yea, I sell parts but I don;t want to deal with a freak like that guy-- badmouthing Jim K. to me--- what was he thinking! Jim & I are friends, I appreciate what he is trying to do-- I cannot deal with all of the hassles you must to try and keep everyone happy. I leave that to him, I renovate coaches primarilly. I also do feel you need to support Jim by telling others about him, support his efforts by not keeping him a secret. At the same time you could let folks know who are interested in a full restoration to call me. Hey, what we do here is pretty specialized too!
I told the guy on the phone that if I saw him at the next WS rally I go to I may just have to poke him in the nose! Yea, pretty childish I know but really, we live in an imperfect world and the best you can hope for is to have someone to help when you need help-- that's what the GMC specialty vendors are here for. It's pretty difficult to be an island alone maintaining your coach.
This guy said all the parts the specialty vendors offer are not unique and we should not spread those lies . Said that I was out of line saying Jim K. has the proper height control valves and JR Slaten was ripping everyone off when he makes a replacement power level control system-- that there are thousands of vehicles with air ride and we were lieing when we said you could not rebuild an ELII system. Crap that made me mad!! That I was lieing and was trying to make things complicated. I was not lieing-- replacement parts for the ELII system ARE not available! Converting a 78 coach to the early style Power Level system using Jim K. height valves and the control JR makes would simplify maintenance-- all the parts are available-- heck that's a good thing!
I'll probably now get a raft of Emails telling me to chill out-- hey, I'm OK but I'll be damned if I will sit there and listen to a seething pile like that guy! If you have trash to say about me, Jim K. or anyone who is trying to help the community I suggest you go talk to the hand because no one here wants to listen to that! We all need to promote the GMC vendors that much more to offset the pile of heavy lead some people spew out! I'll get over this guy but man people like that make me wild! The world may be full of them but don't get in my face!
Said he made a quad bag bracket for $53--- mularky!!! The quad bag system is production precision cut, gold zinc treated and fits great! No machinist would do even half the labor needed for $53, heck, there is more metal in the bracket than that! If this guy (I will not dignify him by using his name) comes back up on this mailing list trying to spead HIS lies, I hope one of you will put him in his place-- or buy him a one way ticket to orlando and let me have a go at him!! aahhmmm yeah I want to get on the props band wagon too please. Jimk has gone beyond the regular service for me. I live on the east coast of Canada and have only had our coach for just over a year. while I haven't had the need for rush over night shipping I have had the privilege of getting treated like I am important to his business. So far none of my purchases are what I would call high ticket items but with every email or phone call I have felt like I was the only customer he had. Not many places or people that can do that when they are as busy as Jimk is.
Now for JimB haven't ordered anything from him yet but will be in the Orlando area in March (jimB I will be contacting you soon for some part availability info) I am guessing the experience will be positive (I can duck and weave if needed)

Jim Bounds will help you, supply parts, or fix your coach just like Jim K. I have bought parts and learned how to repair many things from both of them.

I concur, both of those guys are great. When I inadvertently (stupidly)
unloaded my FireFight foam extinguisher into the cockpit of the GMC while I
was installing it a couple of months ago JimB was kind enough to refill it
for me at no charge. On a side note, while we were coming back from the
GMCWS Rally in Provo we did see an SOB on the side of the road that had
obviously recently burned. The back of the coach was a big black mess. Just
some piece of mind having the FireFight system right under Joanne and I as
we are motoring along.

Never had the privilage of dealing with jim B but if he's half as fair as jim K. or the Sirums are to deal with he has every right to vent. I've ordered stuff from lenzi and slaten and was totally amazed they sent it and said mail them a check after I got it. I've had jim k give me credit on an order for parts I hadn't yet returned but would soon as i got an upgraded part I needed. Just don't punch anybody, the GMC community and your business needs you. Just hope jim K doesn't kungfu him, oops thats chinese I guess that won't happen.

Guys,
Thanks for putting up with my whining-- it's been a difficult week or so for me delivering 2 coaches and finally getting so close to delivery on the Duramax I can taste it. Had a couple extra beverages last night which didn;t do anything for my patience today so when the post hit me it probably bounced across the street on my forhead. I was amazed at the stupidity of it-- really didn't keep much of a cool when I called and was happy when he just hung up. Glad tooo I did not write what I said down.
Yea, we don;t sit in the back room like a bunch of elves whittling out parts-- it's true we buy them but some of them are really hard to find, know what is right and buy enough of them to try and sell them to pay the taxes. Honestly, I do not know how Jim K. does it. I could not invest that kinda money! He is though and I know the margin he works on and it will not make his CPA smile-- mine doesn't and still tells me to go out and get a real job.
Like Jim though I enjoy doing this, it's rewarding in ways it's hard to express. Jim K. really is Mr. Parts and should be thanked. We all share parts, I buy from him, he from me and we all do our best to support the community. This is a very unique community we have assembled. Ask the Revcon or Airstream folks, they'll tall ya!
I enjoybuilding coaches, he gets into finding parts-- it's all good. When someone attacks any of us it really upsets me so if you don;t like something Jim KI. did-- don't come to me!
Again, sorry for me mouthing off but you guys need to know there are people out there who hurt our community. Hard to believe I know but it's true...
Jim Bounds

I can share in Jim B's reaction and feeling.
When we try to do things right and some smart ass wants to kick dirt in
your face, my yeller skin turns red as the clay in Oklahoma.
Jim B and other vendors try to work together to help keep parts available.
Jim B and I spend considerable time fingering out how to replace deleted
parts with what will work.
You can purchase from any people or stores, but do us a favor and not blast
these cut rate places on the net. They have never contributed to the GMC
community and never will.

Are you sure the person doesn't show dogs and lose? sounds just like some people I am acquainted with.
You pay a bit of a premium for research, support, warrany, and some other intangibles. For those pieces I might source elsewhere, if I apply my hourly rate to the time to find them, order them, and then pay a restock charge for the ones I ordered wrong, the list suppliers (JimK being a prime example) , the 'GMC Vendors' are a bargain. But don't tell, the price might increase.

Having lived in all three I got to correct you. Okie clay is merely sticky. You want RED clay come to Georgia (where I live now) or Alabama where I grew up.
