When I replaced my fuel lines and converted to two electric pumps and hard lines I figured I should replace the 1/4" line inside the 6 KW generator compartment while I was at it. To my surprise this line is plastic like we used in our 50's hot rods?
Surprisingly it is still in good shape. I scratch my head as to why GM would use plastic hose here. I figured it would be best to replace it with the same 1/4" line we use from the tank to the outside generator connection. Although this line has a larger OD and won't fit thru the grommet inside the compartment.
What have others done besides leaving the 36 year old plastic line in place?
