Was coasting down a long hill on my way to MGM GMC for some maintenance & the engine started to backfire blowing out one muffler. Turned out my old points ignition failed and caused the backfiring. Miguel recommended replacing the ignition with a Pertronix Flame-Thrower D1100 and replace the blown dual Flowmaster mufflers with a single Spin-Tech 8743. Take a look at my You-Tube link below to see and hear the new muffler. Also take a look at my burnt floor from the old mufflers. Guess I need a shield of some kind under there.
