Rob,

Since I use mine regularly I have a robinair unit. I would be leary personnally of one from harbor freight if I had to depend on it. I work on 4-7 systems a year now, used to do it professionally in my younger dumber days.

If you only need one it once or twice, it is more economical to do the repair work then have the system drawn down and charged.

Unless your a tooljunkie like me

My general thoughts on Harbor freight stuff is that 4 to 7 times a year
is about the right duty cycle for an HF unit. A busy professional might
use his pump up to 4 times a day and the HF wouldn't live long. I buy a
lot of HF stuff 'cuse it lets me have the tools and equipment for
occasional use without busting the budget (Yeah, I'm an incredible tool
junkie, too. Doesn't everybody have 4 roll-around tool boxes in their 3
car garage?) As an example, I have a 4" and a 9" angle grinder. I use
the 4" all the time and it is a DeWalt. I only use the 9" a few times a
year and it is a HF.
Harbor Freight tools can be a good value if you understand exactly what
you are buying.

Gene,

That link didn't get me to the pump either so here you go:

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?itemnumber=98076&Submi
t=Go

If the URL wraps just go to Harbor Freight and enter 98076 in the Item
Search box,

Rick Denny used this same pump to draw down his A/C line, when he went to Duracool or HC12a. He appeared to be happy with the results.

Rob -

Please send me the coupon sheet. We just bought one at work for doing epoxy
encapsulating and for the $$ you can't beat it. I could use one for myself
and who can't resist saving $20 and getting more tools?

Thanks,

If you get any of the car magazines - Car Craft, Hot Rod etc. there is a 20% discount coupon in the October magazines. There may also be a coupon for the pump and you can use both.
