In his presentation at the GMCMI convention at Amana, Dick Paterson mentioned that when replacing the cap & rotor one should use one that has brass terminals on top and brass contacts inside the cap. Most auto parts store one have aluminum and the don't hold up well he said that if the don't have one in stock ask for a marine Chevrolet cap. They are brass
Same on rotors. Don't use one with an aluminum spark blade.
