Hello & thanks for all the great info here. We have admired the GMC motorhome for many years and just recently bought a 77 Kingsley. It has been upgraded a lot but still needs a few things to make it ours. The more I work on it, the more I'm impressed with the engineering of it. Looking foward to getting to some rallies next year and meeting some of you good folks.

Glad to have you. We welcome all to our rallys. Add your city, and '77 Kingsley to your signature line so we can know where you are and what your model is when answering questions. Not all GMCs were built alike.

Welcome. These things DO get under your skin, all right. I only recently (July) bought my rig, thinking I really wouldn't have to do much of anything to it. But I'm racking up the mods to make it "my spec"... like a new sound system (four monitor speakers under the front cabinets, and two 8" subs and an amp under the dinette seat pedestal), a rearview camera/GPS/bluetooth megagadget, a 1000 watt inverter with an auto-switch (took two tries to get that one right!), a new Progressive Dynamics battery charger / power supply, five more seat belts, a ram air system, a True Track bogie "enhancer", a few extra gauges, and a full-on fuel injection / computer controlled distributor system laying around in pieces in my office. And I haven't even spent a night in the thing yet (just lots of time in and under it). That's all gonna change before the end of the year, and I should close out the calendar year with 6,000 more miles and a whole lot of adventures under our belt.

Welcome, these coaches do get under your skin. I have owned mine for 5 years after wanting one since the late 70s, and just attended my first rally at Amana.
You'll see that the knowledge exchange with this group and general enthusiasm are some of the best things about owning the coach. Learning about the coaches with proper maintenance procedures and a wide variety of upgrades available makes these a lot of fun.

Welcome to the group/family/cult/asylum....
Things you need to know:
This list and forum are available to readers that have not been vetted, so do not publish a real @ddress or phone nr.
We work on real names here so that when we do (and we will) meet at a rally or other gathering we know who each other are. It is, after all, much like a family.
You need to go into Control Panel/Account Settings and load a sigfile that has your name, coach description (believe it or not, but 77 Kingsley tells us a lot)and include anything else that might be important and lastly, a geographic reference others know what resources you might have available.
And finally, you will soon find that the coach is more than just something you own, it will be more a part of your life. I relate it to the way we waterman are attached to our boats. That brought me to welcome new owner in a manner similar to a watermen's greeting to a new owner or vessel, thus I say,
May the Good Lord Bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

I agree with George, These things do get under your skin. Like George I wanted one since I first saw it going down Banff Avenue in the mid 70's. I've only had mine for two years and six days. We bought it in Florida. I asked Jeff Sirium if I had to do anything if I were going to drive it to Alaska. He said to get in and go, so I did. Mine has a lot of upgrades from the previous owner but like any old vehicle there is always something. One of the other pieces of advice I got was to follow this board. Good advice. I've learned a lot and thank everyone for their assistance. I don't usually have a lot to say but by following the advice given others I'm often able to remedy my own issues. Thanks again everyone.

I am kinda like Jim B here, in Canada. Don't say much, just pay close attention. 
He is right in that this is the place to be if you own one of these coaches. I am a member of other groups but none of them are as active as this bunch. I rather doubt you can come up with anything new here. Eccl. 1:9
