So, I am stuck here and no one is on the net today. Teri is gone so I snuck out and filled the GMC tanks with gas. 3.49 a gallon. Guess it will go up instead of down, but it has fallen a nickle here this week. Got nervous hearing about California paying 5 bux. Not supposed to be off the couch so don't mention I was out cruising in the GMC. Bad lower back pain after the wreck, but it is getting better. I did not tell her I was seeing double or I would have had to go to hospital. So, black tank is clean and the gas tanks are full. Now to finish getting the fresh water out and putting a couple of gallons of the pink stuff in, next week. Man, I hate winterizing. Should be headed to Arizona. Next year, I am out a here. I plan to take GMC and Vdub to car show in two weeks so at least I will get to do a little more cruising before winter.
Hope everyone is out enjoying their coach.
Life is good, Thursday I was very lucky.

Hi Dan,
You do more than the majority put together with the coach. We have 10,000
miles so far into this trip. Now camped on Galveston Island enjoying the
heat. Still have another 4000 to go to get home. Both Sharon and I are
loving this time in life. I am starting to get several interested in Route
66 in 2014.
We were paying up to 6 a gal in Canada and around 4 here. Burning premium
all the way. In States I add ethonal fighter. So add that cost to it.
Look forward to the day we see eye to eye.
Blessings

Dan,
Glad to hear you weren't injured badly in the wreck and now you won't have to figger out what to do with the Vibe as I assume it
will be totaled!
You can take the bucks you get from the insurance company and use it to get the Mustang back on the road.
You'll have two of the coolest towds around that's for sure!
Just finished helping Helen pack her bags; yep I snuck in a lot of bits and pieces for The Blue Streak, Downunder! ;-)

That might get me fired, I can only hope. :d No one misses Quartzsite like I do. I also need dental work. Do you know how long it took me to get the sand out of my vdub after buying it from Gene? Not sure I want to hit the dunes. Got new carpet now. I would like for you to see it in person though to see if you can recognize anything.

When are you headed to Yuma Gary? We have a rally coming up there next
month. The Palm is a pretty swanky place, for Yuma.

Carl - we had no problem in Canada with fuel - all the premium was ethanol
free and in the maritimes some provinces were totally ethanol free. ONce
we got into the states I started using the Lucas Safeguard Ethanol fuel
conditioner with stabilizer
Have been driving in 87 degree weather and no problems - although close to
sea level and no major hills.
Will keep using the premium with the conditioner and report on it.

Gary,
I fwd your emal to the Culvers. They are the ones who organize the annual
3-5 week expedition to Puerto Penabsco (Rocky Point) for the Jet Setters
and guests. I don't know of anyone in Yuma that goes to Mexacali for
dental work, but I'll check and get back to you. I do, however, know of a
lot of members of my Elks lodge that run over to Douglas for their dental
work. Most go for the cleaning and xrays, then have the work done on this
side of the border. I will check with them now and get back to you.

G'day,
My Mom had lots of dental work done down in Tijuana. After I brought her down to Australia the teeth she had capped began breaking
off. She was 78 and in a retirement facility so I don't know if she was brushing her teeth or not.

Rob M.

Dwayne,
Thanks for the info. I will definitely give it a try on my next summer trip. I haven't had a problem since a year ago July when we went up to Flagstaff. The hill between Cave Creek and Sunset Point, on I-17, was a bear. We were lucky to make 25 mph with the engine cutting in and out the whole way. It might have been because the gas had been in the tanks since April or May. Once I got to a higher altitude, hence cooler, it ran fine the rest of the trip, including the 120 miles between Phoenix and Tucson at 100 degree plus temps.
Our trip his past July, to Silver City NM was not a problem. Higher elevation (cooler) and less of a climb, at least to Lordsburg. It pulled the next 35 miles and 3,000 ft with no issues after topping off the gas at Flying-J.
I plan to eventually install in-tank fuel pumps, but until that time, my strategy will be to tackle the big grades in the wee hours of the morning when it's still cool.
