Emery or anyone on the list,
I am looking for a set of the old captains chairs, 78 Eleganza.
Color does not matter.
The ones with the drop down arm rests.
I am new to this, just got my coach 3 Mos ago.
If you can help, Thanks.

Just pull your Onan out all the way and follow the cable that goes out of your control panel to the right side of the box that has the slides mounted on it. The connector will be behind the rear of the box on the right side.
To get to it you have to jack up the motorhome (put some wooden blocks under the frame) and crawl under the motorhome. Then reach up and behind and you should see the cable with the four wires and the connector.
I cut the wires one by one and put on a piece of heat shrink tubing and soldered the ends together. That was probably 15 or 20 years ago and the still work fine.

Sorry but when I tried to give them away there were no takers. I have thrown away 4 of them.
BUT, there are people taking them out all the time to replace them with more modern, more comfortable ones so just wait awhile and post your need on the net and you'll find some soon.

Welcome to the group/family/cult/asylum.
You should have started a new thread for this.
Highjacking a thread is a real bad idea. The worst part is that someone that might want to help may not be able to re-find your note as it is in and unrelated thread. Or, someone that could be help may skip your posting because it is buried in an unrelated thread he in which has no interest.
Do not just change the title. In the forum, it will stay in the thread, if you do that.
Pick "New Topic" at the top right.
It is also a real good idea to set up a sig file (do this in control panel/account settings) with a name, coach description and geographic reference so people that want to help know what you have and where you are without having to hunt the information.
If you make any required repairs and are diligent and conscientious about the maintenance, there may be no nightmares. You read very little here of coaches dead on the road. Please read all this carefully, you should carry some small spares of known problem parts (like your HEI module), just to be safe. But, many of the coaches you will meet have been a whole lot of miles.
Lastly, if you have been reading this board long, you will remember that I like welcome new owners. Part of the situation I discovered after owning a GMC for a while (not our first RV) was that the relationship with out coach and the community is very much like that of waterman and their boats (my world).
So, some time back, I decided to welcome new owners and coaches as we would welcome a new owner or vessel. And So,
May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

I had the same problem with my 77 PB ...
Turned out the connectors had butt splices crimped on and I cut the wires off and soldered all the connection so it won't happen again.
I trust solder and heat shrink, not butt splices ...
oh, yeah ... someone had used 110 volt zip wire to extend the wires and that also helped cause the problem because they were so long that there were getting jammed when the generator got pushed back in its cage.

Michael-
Your symptoms are the most common problem with the remote control. The
wire that is disconnected and/or corroded has 12 volts on it at all
times, so it is the first one to fail. Yours appears to be loose at the
Onan control panel itself rather than at a connector behind/under the
genarator, so you may need to look at the Onan electrical diagrams to
trace where it belongs.
