after having coach a couple years and a half dozen short trips wife and i got caught it rain and had to use wipers.
i thought they were sluggish, (i cleaned the screen to unit last year, but had not even tried using)
is it normal to be sluggish?
also, is there a perticular wiper blade that any one prefers,
thanks bgk

I think that many folks have converted to Ken Henderson's electric wiper system to correct the limitations of the original system. JimK at Applied GMC has the information on his site.
If you're dealing with rain, I've had good luck with Rain-X applied to the windshield to try to help clear it.

I used Carquest part number CWP 750-200 blade refills. These fit the Anco blade. On my GMC the arms are Trico and the blades are Anco. Can't say if others are the same or not.

It seems that any of the brands out there seem to deteriorate sooner than they used to. I've used ANCO, Bosch, Rain-X, and other generic brands, and have never really found a whole lot of difference in performance in the blades. I think the environment here in the city seem to cause them all to go bad no matter what the brand.

Besides cleaning the screen, have you done anything to yours as either preventive maintainance, or repair. I would prefer to keep mine as designed if i can make it work usefully.
Thanks

I had converted to the arms and blades that Jim K sells but as I was leaving earlier in September, the last thing I did was clean my windshield. When I lifted the blades I noticed that the UV had had its way. I was not able to find a replacement refill. I got Trico Force 25-220 and they seem to work well.

Hi Brian
Make sure that the wiper motor valve is opening all the way. The cable
that operates it gets sticky and may be binding.
