It is my understanding that one of my fuel tanks is actually an auxiliary tank and I can switch to it by pressing the button on the dashboard. But I really don't know how it is supposed to work. I understand that fuel is dispensed equally from both tanks until they reach 1/4 full and then fuel is dispensed from the primary tank. What happens next? If i let the primary tank go to 1/8 full, can I push the button and see my guage register 1/4 again because that's what remains in the secondary tank? When running on the primary tank do I still have 1/4 in the secondary tank? Thanks for any enlightenment you can provide.

Bob, I had a guy in Southern Illinois switch my lines. Caused me to run out of gas once at Applied GMC. Could not figure out what was wrong til I got them switched back. You have it pretty well figured out. Back tank is primary. I flip my switch often to keep it working. Occassionally I will run the GMC til it runs out of gas in primary and then flip it. Go up a hill and it will run back into the primary and I switch it back. I only do this when I am near home and know where the gas station is. You should notice both tanks kinda going down at same time if you flip switch back and forth.

I rarely run mine below half full. I find it good to get out of the coach every couple hundred miles just to check things and take a break. Great time to gas up again.

Thanks for the reminder. This summer after a long trip from Mo. back to Michigan, we were getting low on fuel. I had never used the aux. switch. The next exit was coming, so I was sure to make it. However the exit was under construction and the next one was 15 miles. OK, so switched the aux. switch, no problem, right. Wrong, you would have thought I had hit the kill switch. Back on to the main tank. Made it to the next exit, rolled through the stop sign and fortunately the gas station was down hill from there. Had to time it just right to hit the pump on the correct side without power. Quite a accomplishment. Glad I had the reserve brake boaster tank. Anyway, got to get that fixed, your question reminded me to put it on the list.
