S0o.  We had a seal party at Ted Petty's place.  George Zhukoff (sp?) joined us and ran the camera.  Pics to my place on the photo site tonight.  We sealed two A-6 compressors and used up some of Ted's beer in the process.  Shared stories about flying and listyened to some of George's helicopter tales.   Next stop on the Seal Kit World Tour is Dolph Santorini's place, they head his way tomorrow.  Also needed are the clutch pully remove and replace tools, which George had.  He said he'll post the maker and part numbers.  There's room for them in a USPS SMALL FLat Rate box along with the seal tool kit.  <hint>  If there were a set in with the seal tools, when the World Tour is finished, Larry Davick would have a box with everything but the seal itself to kindly loan out to GMCers who have A/C problems.  After Dolph, they head for Chicago, I think.

Yes, that's a good photo trail of replacing the seal, but...

The picture that labels the 2 piece seal and new seal, you reinstall the metal cage under the ceramic seal. You discard only the ceramic seal.

The kit Johnny is sending on to you has all the required tools except spanner and clutch removal and installation tool.

The picture trail starts with the removing pulley and clutch. The spanner we used is an Air Pro Quality Parts Modine part # 00325.

The clutch plate remover & installer is a KD GM part # 2418. I think the KD is NOS from an ebay auction.

You can search the web and find all the additional individual tools for sale. Also there are kits containing every tool in one box.

There is also a utube video on replacing the seal.

The second compressor rebuid by Ted Petty that day took as long as it took for Johnny and me to down a beer.
