Dawn & I would like to thank everyone at the GMCMI Amana convention who made us feel so welcome ! We "green badged" newbies were greeted and informed and encouraged by all. We enjoyed the camaraderie. Our journey home was fun as we side stepped into Galena IL for some great Italian food. Now I need figure out why my cruise control and tach stopped working on the way home. Our coach ran like a top and is still wagging it's tail after visiting all those other pooches in Amana. We look forward to continued involvement in the GMC community !

Thanks for coming. I think we had 17 first time coaches there out of 158. That was a good number of new folks.
Check the tach wire coming out of the distributor cap. Sometimes it vibrates loose.

I assume you are talking about the OEM Cruise Control. If so, one common failure is with the ground path to the CC unit. Remove the ground wire from the CC unit that is attached to the body of the coach and attach it directly to the engine block. If you do not find an easy bolt to use for he attachment, then there are a couple of threaded holes on the back of the heads that you can install a new bolt and ground wire to.

The tach attachment is direct to a connector on the HEI distributor cap. Check it and the continuity of that wire back to the tach. The only other thing the tack needs is a Switched +12 volt lead and again a good ground back to the engine block. This path is usually found by grounding it to the instrument panel which has a ground path through the aluminum plate that has the boost solenoid on it and then on back to the negative post on the battery.

Mark,

We all enjoyed meeting you two. And the way you pitched in as a volunteer
marked you as a "true GMCer"!

Hope you can make Dothan.
