With the cooler air in the mornings I have decided to find what my problem is on the climate control panel as I only get heat out of one dash vent and the defrost on my 76 Palm Beach.
I removed the instrument cover on the back side and found that I had a broken piece of plastic that controls the heat direction. I had a spare unit out of a 73 but it is different than my 76. I checked the Bdub site and supposedly the 73 to 76 are the same? My question is where there three different climate control panels used in the GMC or just the two 73-76 and 77-78? I am hoping that I have the later year control panel as there are more choices of vehicles to choose from.

Air Conditioner/Heater Control Panel:
Panels from ’70-’71 Buick Riviera will fit ’73-’76 motorhomes. Panels from ’77-’84 GM cars will fit ’77-’78 motorhomes. Vacuum select wafer is unique. Change wafer from original panel. (Don’t lose OEM wafer.)
