I know folks are going to be talking about "dropping their tanks"
We have the best GMC vendors on the planet, at AMANA, and we need to know
their new products... services... etc.
so be a SCRIBE, and sneak in with your , pad, pod, phone, tablet, netbook,
and send us a ,snip it, of each session
this info is critical, to how we go forward from here.

Gene,
I'm curious as to what you mean by "new products". In the last six
conventions I've been the last "new" thing I saw was the anti-dive braking
system enhancement. Now, Thomas Pryor is supposed to be here somewhere
with his modification for the rear end still on drum brakes. Read about it
here.
https://sites.google.com/site/teprestorationsllc/Home
Otherwise, it's business as usual except for those that have different
ways of handling the airbag situation. Shucks, there are "new" original
Firestones for sale here.
Now, one thing that would be of interest is Paul Doane's work on a stretch
he got from Alex Sirum. Paul says it weighs less than his former
26-footer. He used a aircraft-like honeycomb flooring. That saved weigh.
He isn't using any particle board inside, either. More weight saved. If I
recall correctly, fully loaded his coach comes in at less than 9,000
pounds. I'm amazed. The OEM rear end starts moving up at less than 85 lbs
of pressure. Amazing for a coach in excess of 30 feet. Of course,
relocating the rear end so the balance was retained is a part of that
secret.
One Buskirk stretch is here and some "also ran" coaches.
Good crowd. Nearly 150 coaches registered. Kim said they just kept coming.
17 first-timers here for the opening day.

Gene,
I'll ask better questions and see if I get good answers the next time I'm
around the vendor area. Then, I'll report back.
By the way, that system by Tom Pryor is great for those of us that are
fans of the OEM (single) bag system.

Yes, does this photo show a one piece dash replacement? With all the talk of cracked dashes this would be of interest to a lot of people.

Who is offering the "new OEM" air bags -- JimK?
Thanks for any information.

Yes. That one-piece, fiberglass dash is on display in Frank Jenkins' area.
Note that it isn't for a 77/78 GMC specifically but could be adapted. No
holes exist for instruments or air so further customization is required.
Recover the instrument collar and you're good to go.
Individual owners that have leftover bags are selling a few Firestone
bags. John Richardson, in particular.

Frank Jenkins will have the molds done for the 1977 + in about a month. I plan to buy one. His new design of the one piece means that you don't have to cover it. You can either leave it white or paint it. You will just have to put a little bit of wood trim around the glove box opening.
