OK, so I got everything off the tank and replaced the valve. Tank's got a crack on the bottom along the rear edge for an inch or so. Someone had the repair proess in their photos on the photo site. Can someone remind me who that was? I'm cleaning, gonna have to work the inside portion using a service mirror. Today it's raining like all the proverbial things, so hopefully tomorrow - Thursday will be sufficient to repair it. I have a show this weekend and the coach is going. Worst case we'll use the bathhouse and skip even hoioking the water up... but at my age one does have to go in the middle of the night sometimes... it will be much nicer with working plumbing.

I just repaired mine. and I feel good about how it turned out. so far no drips with 1/2 tank of bad stuff sitting in there since the weekend.

Gravity was a real bugger on the repair of this crack. if a person could pull the tank and have gravity on there side it would go better. just be prepared for the gravity effect.
the plastic melts together pretty nice. so I would think that plastic welding would work best. I melted the crack together using a map gas torch heating an old soldering pen. If I had could of gotten stuff to drip upwards, it would of been really good to melt a piece of metal window screen into it. but gravity just had the screen falling down.
I used permatex plastic tank epoxy. it seemed to cure and hold well. I had alot of it on my hands and ground, again due to working upside down.
i coated that with 3m 5300 marine sealant.
the 3m stuff took a week to dry. at least 2 days to be safe to touch it. so if you are in a hurry. do not use the 3m stuff.

Thanks. Frady put me onto the stuff he uses, Plastic Weld. I be;ieve I can get to the crack from the inside as well, I'm cleaning and then roughing up the surfacde with a wire brush in my Dremel. Then I can set the plastic weld on each side.

Roy,
The tank ain't out. And hopefully won't need to be taken out. The people at Norris Coach saw fit to bend the mounting bolts up inside the channel supports for the tank. Consequently they can't be cut off. To remove them, I'll have to straighten them enough to get a socket and breaker bar on them and then wring them in half. I rather not do that.

If the tank is out you might have better luck with a large soldering iron and apiece of similar plastic.If I remember right it is ABS.
