In case your valve cover gasket is leaking, there is another choice for a replacement gasket. The gasket for the GMC/Chevy 350 Diesel engine is identical to the 403 and 455 valve cover pattern.
NAPA has them as part number VS12869, or VS12869AC. Without AC, the gasket is 5/32 inches thick, with AC the gasket is 7/32 inches thick. This is a rubber replacement that does not crush down as bad as the cork gaskets.
