Many times the problem is that the burner is plugged or partially plugged with rust that accumulates in the chimney and then falls down on top of the burner. I like to remove them for cleaning but you may be able to use compressed air to blow out the rust. Cover the orifice if you do use air as you do not want to blow the rust backward and into the orifice.

It is very easy. Unscrew the orifice. Be careful not to enlarge the opening. Use a fine strand of wire to pass through the tiny hole. If you have some stranded wire just cut out one strand. Blow out the orifice as there might be something such as a spider web in the body of it. There are spiders that love the smell of the gas and are small enough to crawl into the small opening. Rarely you might have to soak the orifice in some solvent to clean it.
Also clean the area above the flame and into the chimney column. I usually blow it out with compressed air and then vacuum up the rust that falls out.
