If you are interested in where lower RVP gas is available this site will help you some.

Remember to add 1.0 to the number if the fuel you purchase is Ethanol "Blended". Lower numbers are better.

I saw that article somewhere while I was researching this. The article agrees with everything I have been reading. The article did fail to mention the 1.0 exception allowed by the EPA when Ethanol is blended with real gasoline. I did read somewhere that 84.3 is the minimum octane that fuel can be BEFORE 10% ethanol is added to make it 87. That is probably what I got out there in Montana a month or so ago.

Thanks Bob.

G'day,

On the way out of Sturgis yesterday I happened to pass a gas station that had a big sign NO ETHANOL.I turned around and went back
and filled up. Put 30 gallons of 85 octane in Double Trouble.

I've assumed that since I put in 30 gallons and the tanks hold 50 gallons that should reduce the percentage of Ethanol from 10% to
somewhere around say 4% or less (I'm too lazy to work out the math - close enough is good enough).

Question:

Am I correct?

Regards,
Rob M.

Rob,

You are profoundly correct. It seems that you are, indeed, too lazy to do the math. ;-)

Larry,

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!

I guess what I SHOULD have asked was will the two lots of gas mix so that I wind up with 4% Ethanol in solution or will they stay
separate?

Rob M.
