[GMCnet] Attended a Rally - GMC interest [message #183095] |

Folks, I know it's often mentioned here about how to get others interested
in a TZE. Attending public events is one great way, like camping on Angel
Island during Fleet Week or attending a cruise or old car show (are GMCs
really antiques?).
This weekend the Stockholms and us attended a non-GMC rally with a group
called Tri-State Traveliers. Oddly, the group was formed at a meeting with
the Cinti area dealer who sold GMCs back in the day. At the general
meeting the FMCA officer gave a great report and told the group that the
largest club in the Great Lakes area is GMC Great Lakers and that the club
must really be something special since they all own classic GMC coaches.
In a subsequent conversation, one of the members told Bob that he always
wanted a GMC and that he though it would be as much fun to own as an old
Hot Rod, Corvette or T-bird. When I talked with the gentleman he asked me
if any were around in good shape.
So, it occurred to me that it would be a great idea to "get out of the
shell" and actually get involved with a non-GMC group. Selling yourself to
the cult of owners is one thing but letting others see what one is really
like is another.
Give it some thought. You won't get hurt and may find a bigger welcome
than you could imagine.
