Hi Meghan,

I made a cover out of white marine vinyl. We have a sportsmobile van which
came with a vinyl cover, and it worked so well I copied it. I've also seen
covers of shade cloth, but they don't block as much light/view/heat.

The cover is pretty simple -- just a single seam up the middle to get the
angles correct, and then trim the edges to match the shapes of the windows
(leaving extra for a hem). I just draped the fabric on the windshield
and pinned up the middle to determine the center seam, then marked the
rest out to trim it to shape. I used stainless snaps screwed into the sides
of the coach (apply some polyurethane sealant or such on the screw threads
to help seal it). I applied the snaps to the corners of the cover first, and
then put it in place to figure out where to drill for the snaps on the coach.
So far, I've only installed one snap above and behind the top corner of each
side window, and use the wipers to hold down the bottom. Might also put
snaps at the bottom corner to keep it from flapping, but it hasn't been
much of a problem.

Most fabric stores sell snaps and the little tool to set them into the fabric.
There's nothing magnetic on the sides of the coach to attach to. Some folks have
instead used hooks into a small hole drilled in the front end of the drip rail.

I've had reflectrix on the inside of the 23' yard coach for a couple of years,
and even with very hot sun have seen no problem with the windshields. It
makes a huge difference, but I think the white vinyl cover on the outside
helps more.
