Well, tonight's the night
The wife and I are sleeping in the coach in the driveway. Not sure how that is going to work out. I'll know more in the morning. It's been a long time since we slept in a full size bed.
The original fridge was shot so the PO replaced it with a small 120V fridge. It's been working fine but today nothing. I've verified it has power but it appears dead. Oh well, for the 'test', we'll just keep stuff in the garage fridge. At least the WIFI works in the driveway...all the comforts of home.

Get yourself a 3 way Norcold. I have no regretts. Black face looks classy and you are keeping food items so new is good. My PO put in a compact 120v useless. Also the china bowl toilet upgrade is worth it too. Driveway camping is a win win free vacationette.

The first night we spent in the motorhome was at an RV park in Willcox, AZ right across the road from a railroad crossing. The whole night consisted of a series of 30 - 45 minute naps.
I'm sure you'll sleep better in your driveway!

Wife and I just spent our first night also, unfortunately it was unexpectedly in a Kwik Trip truck stop when our engine (new engine with about 150 miles on it) threw a main bearing and died right there. We had to wait until morning for a tow truck to arrive so we got to spend our first night in a brightly lit truck stop with no curtains, no bedding, no extra clothes, no food, no toilet paper, and the wife was no happy......
I think I've averted the divorce, but getting the wife back in the GMC will take a considerable amount of negotiating.
Your first night sounds much better ;-)

Ooooh! Bad start!
My advice: After you get the engine issue resolved, do as much as you can to make the coach reliable so you, at least, minimize the chances of a repeat performance. Then take your wife to a really nice state park or forest service campground, someplace you could never stay without a motorhome. You will get her to love the thing as much as she loves you!! Well, maybe not, but she will love it once she realizes you can go places where there are NO motels.

SunnyBeaches is parked in our side yard next to the fire pit. Anytime I want to camp out she's ready. Great for sleep overs with our 3yo gbebe Ella and extra sleeping space for guests. I have bed space in the house but all guests want to sleep in SunnyB. I can't say that I blame them.

Kerry,
Your wife will love it. My wife has not missed a night in the RV thus far. I think she slept in the pop-up twice. Going over to Richard's today. I'll tell him you are on the road-kinda.

Old boaters saying " The two happiest days in a boaters life are the day he buys the boat and the day he sells the boat".
I think for GMCers the saying is "The two worst nights for a GMCer is the first night you sleep in it and the last night before it is sold"
"It is better to have loved a TZE and lost it, than to never have loved at all" Boy I guess the coffee and the gray sky from Isiac are making me philosophical this morning!

Wow Rick, you win the worst first night award. My wife was with me several years back when my recently completed 73 Imperial left us stranded and hasn't wanted to ride in my old cars sense.
Well last night wasn't a disaster but it wasn't great...or even good. We did not make it all night. The full size bed just isn't going to work for us, we're just too tall. The wife is 5-10 and I'm 6-2. I wouldn't have a problem sleeping in separate beds but the wood framed front dinette is too small for my height, even sleeping catty-corner.
A 26' with a Davo or similar sounds like it would be better for us. Not a sure thing yet but I expect the 23 foot Sequoia will be on the market shortly. I'm disappointed because the Sequoia will be a really nice coach with a little TLC.

Kerry,
I don't know if this would help, or even if your coach is set up the same way ours was, but here's what I did to get a little more foot room in the bedroom area:
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g5490-gmc-bedroom.html
I'm not as tall as you are (6'-0") but this little mod made all the difference in the world in terms of sleeping comfort. That extra 6" wide piece at the end of the bed made it impossible for me to stretch out. With it gone, I can hang my feet off the end and be comfortable.

MY first night was in the desert at a rocket launch. I was alone, with my son on the Couch, so I slept like a rock. It's amazing how cheaply you can buy a great quality mattress in that size.
OUR first night was at another launch and we slept So-So on the full.
OUR second time was with the DOGS at a rally in Quartzite. I slept on the damn couch!!!

I bought a 9 inch thick Air Mattress and laid it on top of the folded
together rear couches. The 9 inches makes the mattress height the same as
the top of the hamper on the curb side, so I can put my pillow on the
hamper. This gives me the full width, window to window to fit my 6' 4"
frame. The air mattress was about $100 and if I need to get rid of it I can
deflate it in a couple of minutes.
