I have an Avion with a dry bath and the shower door is a litte tight to fit thru. Im going to remove the door and install some kind of shower curtain. Has anyone done this on their dry bath shower. I was just wondering where you installed the rod. And while im on the subject of curtains does anybody have the # to the curtain hangers for the channel behind the seats? I dont have any to match up and would really like a curtain there to maybe hold some air conditioning in. Any ideas besides heavy cloth?

Ted,

For the past 13 years, I've had transparent (non-claustrophobic) plastic
shower curtains behind the cockpit. I'd removed and decided I didn't like
the OEM track so about a hour (or maybe a week) before we departed toward
Alaska, I cobbled up a rod that's served admirably ever since: A block of
plastic, screwed to a rib (probably a bit aft of the original position) has
a 1/4" hole on each side. Into those holes are 1/4" steel rods whose other
ends fit into 1/4" holes in the upper curve of the rear-most extensions of
the front headliner shell. The shower curtains are accordion folded with
the rods through their grommets. Surprisingly, perhaps, they're easy to
close and open but don't slide open on their own.

If you can wait, you can check them out next week.

I want to look at them, Ken. We've been trying to decide what we could
replace our existing ones with. Sandra

Thanks Ken I can wait Im just trying to come up with a solution to my cab air. I wont have it running by the time you get here i need to order a drier so i can get it back together. When i pulled it down it did have some freon left in it. I just picked up a O-Ring kit for it today. Going to see if my local Napa has the drier tommorow.Do you know how to replace the compressor seal?

Larry,

When I saw that installation, I decided to copy it. Then I looked at the Avion shower wall. Well you know that nice CURVED wall that
"everybody" thinks is neat well for that to exist the shower wall has to be CURVED too! That means that Avion owners that want to
copy your setup have to mount the shower rail to the ceiling OR make up a CURVED flange that the rod can go into and screw to the
wall.

I am going to send in a separate email to discuss this further.

Regards,
Rob M.

At a local plumbing supply. It was not a bolt in. I had to cut the rod to length and grind the end up on in the left corner to fit. Also made a rubber gasket to fit under that end. I'm 2000 miles from home right now so can't take close-up for you, but remind me in a couple of days when we are home...I'll shoot a couple

I thuink Frady had some hangars which would fit the channel.  He has about every configuration of them blister packed.  I've thought about just the same sort of curtains as pull across my windshield for that, long enough to reach the floor.  If I can get the dog to stay up front (he wanders from time to time) I can skip running thr roof A/C.  The dash air sghould keep that area cool.

Huh, you just ain't seen enough! The plastic center support really does
look like I whittled it free-hand with my pocket knife from an old
polyethylene cutting board -- and, indeed, I may have! Every time I look
at it I wonder why I've never gotten around to cutting a neat one. I guess
'cause this one just sits there and works -- and SHE never looks straight
up.
