Perhaps this isn't the proper venue - but I find this fascinating. I'm interested in Solar power to top up the coach batteries, but here is a fellow from MIT who thinks differently about solar power. It fascinates me that he simply took a design and ran it backwards (sort of).

Here is his idea for rural sites that have plenty of sun, but are too remote for electricity and also need hot water. Think of an air conditioner. Electricity is used to compress a gas, making it hot, so that it can evaporate, making it "cold" and we blow air over that chilly thing to cool our environ.

He collects heat from a parabolic array to turn the compressor to make electricity using the ambient cold to complete the cycle. I think it's brilliant even if I can't describe it.
