I'M a newbie to RVing and GMCMH and I'm an electrician, but before I start tearing things apart to troubleshoot, has anyone ever experienced this:
Start Onan, no AC (110V) turn on rooftop air conditioer (A/C) rooftop runs, now have 110VAC at outlets, turn off rooftop, lose 110VAC at outlets...recently replaced bridge rectifier due to 110VAC/ no rooftop air either... Confused

Thanks,
Sean

I suspect some loose connections. Unplug the GMC and turn off the Onan. Remove the cover from the inside breaker box. Tighten all wires at the buss bars and where they connect to the breakers.

I suspect that you will find some loose ones.

These connections come loose over the years. Probably from thermal heating and cooling.

In the past others have reported A/C problems and after I suggested they check the connections their problem was solved. If anyone hasn't ever checked the wires they should do so every few years.

I found that a couple outlets were bad. again... looked great on the outside. but once I pulled them out, there was the problem.

for the cost, might be smart to just change out all the 110Volt outlets to be sure.

Weird, it seams the generator needs a heavy load to generate. Even the fan on the rooftop won't run by itself, but when the compressor runs, I have 110VAC everywhere.

I'd go with Emerys suggestion first. This covers a shore power scenario.as well. Pop the breakers out and reseat and flip as well Wild temp swings, humidity swings and vibration not easy environment. Maybe open your 14-50 box and snug in there too for piece of mind.

Strange to say the least. I would first check the no load power out at the generator then power in at the breaker box ,power out at the breaker box etc.
