I don't know if it applies, but on my first coach, I had to replace the air tank because it was completely rusted out from the inside. You would have to install it before the tank, and after the compressor. I replaced the air tank with a beautiful stainless steel tank, and never worried about again.

Ray: anything will help. Water is your enemy. My 76 with big air tank had a water collector/bleeder till it started leaking and I took it off. It was in line. I also like the idea of the drains like the big truck has. Spring loaded, pull a cable. Put a T coming out the bottom and point the T down with the drain valve.

Ray: anytime you compress air it mashes the water out of it. I would thik it would help. Draw back is you got 2 compressors and need 2 dryers on the pressure outlets. Good part to your system is it only pumps as much pressure as it needs instead of maintaining 120lb in a tank. The one like I had, had a glass reservoy with a push button on bottom to drain. Made it part of the pretrip to look and drain, it was under the hood. I think I still have it and will try to post pic, I was trying to find a replacement and was told there are better than that available but about $50.

Ray, the system is quite unique in that it drys the desiccant each time the system is lowered. The dry air in the bag expels through the desiccant sending the water laden air to the atmosphere. GM had a lot of engineers and accountants. They would not have been put on every vehicle with a suspension compressor unless it was absolutely necessary.

G'day,

Double Trouble's Viair pump remote inlet filter is located above the hood opening just next to the horn.

This location reduces the amount of water that gets sucked into the pump.

IMHO I reckon rainwater being sucked into the pump sends a lot of water into the tank.

There is small filter / accumulator screwed into the fitting on the bottom of the air tank and I monitor it for water.

Very little accumulates in it. On the odd occasion when I vent it I see very little water come out. Usually it's just "fog" not
water.

Regards,
Rob M.

Rob, Ray's coach does not have a tank and the compressors are mounted inside the coach near the left rear wheel well. If there's any water there he has another problem.

Maybe Gary could chime in here as to
how his new system relates to this issue.

Now where did that come from?

Did Gary package together a compressor, tank, and wireless air system, or has he tweaked the system to allow for higher pressure?

I am not Gary, but I install his systems. If you are running a single air
bag system, bag extenders will lower the system pressure to achieve ride
height at around 70 to 80 psi. I am on a rolling rally across Canada and
wifi spots are few and far between. You can send me an email, and I will
try to catch up with it.

I have the discontinued dual-bag system and it operates at 80 psi if I can trust my Harbor Freight tire gauge. My '76 came with Electro-Level I and everything works well, but I have a leak in the compressor area that causes it to cycle on about every 5 minutes. The bags don't loose air, but the compressor cycles on regularly.

It would be nice to be able to level the coach from outside, but it's not on the top of my list. Gary has put together a nice looking package.

Larry, with the dual bag system, it should come to full extension before
you inflate to 100 psi UNLESS you have a very heavily laden coach. I was
not sure which system you had, so I took a s.w.a.g. Gary is a great
workman, and his systems are top notch.

James,

This is what I have. I believe that with the true trackers this system is safe.
