For anyone looking for another project, we added a thermostatic mixing valve
to our GMC shower for our most recent trip and are really happy with the results.

These valves are designed for an under-sink hand held bidet retrofit. They're
small and very inexpensive compared to the stuff one has to buy for a full sized
house shower. Perfect for our application and let us replace the obsolete
diverter sink faucet with a regular old house faucet. I got them from hydrawand.com:

No need to buy the whole kit. They were happy to sell me just the thermostatic
and shut-off valves for less than the kit price, and were super helpful too.
