Karen,
That looks great. Now you can shower without worrying about par-boiling your skin off!
How did you mount the shower nozzle up top - with a close nipple and a big nut? I need to do mine sometime.

Subject: [GMCnet] thermostatic shower valve
For anyone looking for another project, we added a thermostatic mixing valve
to our GMC shower for our most recent trip and are really happy with the results.
Here are the details:

These valves are designed for an under-sink hand held bidet retrofit. They're
small and very inexpensive compared to the stuff one has to buy for a full sized
house shower. Perfect for our application and let us replace the obsolete
diverter sink faucet with a regular old house faucet. I got them from hydrawand.com:

No need to buy the whole kit. They were happy to sell me just the thermostatic
and shut-off valves for less than the kit price, and were super helpful too.
signed, a happy camper,

A big washer and nut on the threaded part of the valve. Didn't
even have to modify the hole in the fiberglass for the shutoff valve.
I should have taken more pics of the installation, but wasn't sure it'd
even work and was just trying to get things back together to go camping.
The seller tells me he sells the thermo and shutoff valves for
barely his cost to promote his bidet business, so this is a really
great deal for us. I have no relation with these guys at all,
just a happy customer.

Just fyi, I found the package for the PEX fittings we used to
connect to the thermo valve.
They're "SharkBite 1/2 x 1/2" FNPT Straight Connector (Swivel)"
The swivel is the important bit since the regular FNPT fittings
would not go on more than about one thread.
