Nope. Virginia just requires you fill out a form saying you won't use the antique vehicle for commuting and that's about it. Pay a lifetime $50 registration fee (and $10 a year for the personalized plates)

Got my plates in just under a week.

Minnesota wont register the GMC as antique or anything else because it's taxed by weight.

I tried 2 DMVs and both said the same thing Sad

in california, at the dmv yesterday they stated that my 1977 gmc cannot be used with Antique plates, it has to be 1975 or less. ouch!

any ideas here, like a junk remake, and jail.

Buy an acre or two of land in South Georgia.  Col Ken can put you onto a realtor.  Then, since you're a 'georgia resident' license the thing hwere.  No inspection outside non-compliant smog areas (Atlanta area), tags are relatively cheap.  It requires only that you learn to properly articulate, "How 'bout dem Dawgs"   on Monday mornings during the Fall.
