I dropped the front cap this weekend with the help of my buddies. Got the clearance lights hooked up and bolted down and was finally able to find out why my antenna seemed so poor. The antenna wire was about 2 inches short and was not connected.
While the cap was down we painted it, patched some cracks and added sheet aluminum to those places were rivets had been. The sun visors are harder to remove (and possibly install) than they have any right to be. The plastic was in better shape than I expected.
Now I have a radio and some very bright clearance lights.
