Sitting here at the state park and noticed all the RVs with the people's names and where they are from . Does anyone know of an engraved sign person who has done them with likeness of a GMC on them?

We got ours done with a likeness of the GMC done at a Flea Market. Usually there is someone there willing to make those kind of signs while you wait at the good big flea markets. Ours was done in Daytona beach and we just gave the guy a photo of our GMC. He took some artistic license, and it's not much more than a rough outline, but he also carved it with our family name and "'76 GMC Motorhome". We get a lot of people walking by asking "is it really?"

Thanks,

Dennis, thanks for the plug about the signs. A while ago, Byron Songer sent me some files to see if I could figure out how to use them on signs. I never got roundtoit but, prompted by this post, I finally did.

I made a sample mock-up picture of a sign with a GMC using one of Byron's drawings - that guy is amazing. You can see the mock-up at http://tiny.cc/wjpghw - I am in the middle - can't get round to that either - of reworking my web site so the link you posted is not the same as where this one takes you.

Right now, that particular illustration by Byron is the only one that I can use. He sent me others but I have not done the work to make them suitable for this.

A former GMC owner made one for me. He lives in New York. He also does dogs
and pontoon boats.

Golly, Armand, that looks spot on. Having seen it, I think I could improve
on the pattern. But, that's a good rendering.

Bill Brown has also used some of my drawings to do etching in glass of the
GMC.

(Isn't it amazing what computers do to make us look good.)

Armand,

Helen brought ours with her and I will spray it with Polyurethane tomorrow and sand it as you instructed then Helen will paint it!
We'll hang it on the GMC at Amana!

Had ours done at a local festival. We gave the guy a photo and he free-handed his drawing, then chased it with a router. He even put color on to match our paint scheme. We hang it from a wrought iron holder that drives into the ground. (had a real challange at this year's GLASS as the ground was like concrete)
