I'm looking for a cockpit pedestal for the passenger side. I have pedestals, but the PO removed the swivel portion to mount another seat. I'm replacing those seats with Honda seats. I've located one for the driverside and have modified it for the new seat but still need the passenger pedestal. Here is a pic of the driver side unit.

If you have one to sell or just get rid of, please contact me.

You might want to check eBay for GMC motorhome parts. There is a fellow just west of downtown Chicago that was parting one out and had all sorts of panels, frame members, etc. listed. I bought a dash from him a while ago, and though he is in a very scary-looking part of town, he was nice and helpful.

He doesn't list all the things he has for sale at the same time, so you might try to contact him. Sorry, I didn't save his information, but his shop was on west Lake St. In Chicago and his eBay name is BornTim.

George,

The type that Larry is after are rarer than rocking horse poo!

I've been doing an eBay search for GMC parts for years and have only seen
the trapezoidal seat bases a couple of times. I bought one set and Dan G.
picked them up for me.

Regards,
Rob M.

I'm sure Cinnabar has them. I've had work done there and they told me they had plenty of pedestals when we discussed cockpit seat replacement options.

G'day,

I reckon it would be a bad idea if half a dozen guys call them up and ask
for an OEM trapezoidal seat base,

If that happens they might tweak to the fact that they're desirable and
start selling them!

Rob M.

Look what Cinnabar did to the price of air bags. I hope they end up eating most of them.

I have a chance of getting a 1978 Royale with only 82,000 (+) miles. It has been in storage for over 6 years it appears it does not leak. If the deal works, I would like to have two and use them when I re-do it.

I should know in 1 – 2 months if the deal happens. If it happens, chalk me for two.

OK, hold on...I just remembered that I have a set of generic pedestals that I got from JCW about 5 yrs ago. I got them out and found that I may be able to mount the Honda seats to these JCW pedestals WITHOUT modifying or removing anything from the seat. I'm taking pics as I go, so as soon as I work this out, I'll post them.

Hi Larry.. You might want to use the GMC pedistals if you can find the right side. They are offset swivel and actually move away from the wall when swiveling. I had a set of Capt chair swivels and had to raise the seat back to swivel..

Chuck,
How about offset mounting the chairs on the "Captain Chair swivels" ? Offset to the right, then off-center (to the left) mount the swivel. Wouldn't that give the same effect?

Larry. in my case the swivels were already mounted to the Flexsteel seats and I had to end up setting the whole driver seat toward the center of the coach so it did not line up with the steering wheel and it still hit the wall.. " Idea " .. Since you have the driver side, the pass side could be moved toward the center without noticable effect. Then the swivels would not match tho. Confused Your coach is way too nice for that. I ended up buying a wrecked 77 Birch for the bases and Onan and possibly the Fridge, but now I have enough stuff to repair the wreck so I`m hesitant about removing anything else.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g6008-birchaven-project.html
Sorry, the owner of the Palm Beach kept the bases for his 74..
I do have a set of bases out of an Avion (only?) but they are center swivels. I don`t know why they are different? It had a barrel chair on pass side.

I did some research and I THINK the swivels in the Avion were used in
