I have an older Rostra cruise control with the 10 dip switches but no manual. Does anyone have the portion of the manual that shows the dip switch settings? The copy in the manuals library is for the newer 12 switch version.

Hal -

What I am quoting from is Duane Simmons' supplementary instruction sheet for the 10-switch Rostra unit.

As a quick answer, note the following:

Switch 1 Off

Switch 2 On

Switch 3 Off

Switch 4 Off

Switch 5 Off

Switch 6 Off

Switch 7 On

Switch 8 Off

Switch 9 On

Switch 10 Off

If you need more, I can scan and send his two-pages of instructions, also can scan the material in the Rostra instructions that explains what each of the dip switches controls. Let me know what you need, it is too late to do more tonight unless it is an emergency, then all bets are off and you can call me at 513-530-5021 at any time. If a sleepy guy answers it will be me, I will leave the file out just in case..

Hi Bob,

No emergency - I've been looking for one of those round tuits for some time to get this project finished. I could really use the info from Duane plus the description of the switch functions. I'm changing to a Hall effect transducer from the original so one of the switches must be changed for the square wave and I don't know which one it is.

Regards,

Hal

Hi Bob

Please send that stuff to me so I can post it with what I've already got on
the manuals page.

Oh yeah! That was when I was at a Classics rally and I meant to get back
to you about that. The parts were too big for my mailbox. I'll send you
instructions on where to upload that to.

Don't let me forget.

Update: The information from Bob Burkitt did the trick. Rostra cruise and VDO speedometer both working off the same Hall effect pulse generator I found on Ebay. New units made for GM available in either 8 or 16 pulses per revolution for $20. See item no. 261012388335 for the 8 pulse and #180917601820 for the 16 pulse. I bought the 8 pulse.

Thanks to all who provided solutions to my problems.
