I'm confused! AGAIN!
SteveS noted "Forum updates do not got to the email users."
I thought the Forum was a mirror image of the email list.

What you said it true. Every time someone has an email delivery problem they like to blame it on the Forum.
Now if he is claiming that updates to a given posting do not get delivered to emailers, that is true. Emailers, just like a lot of other things they miss, have to live with it.
It is like buying a Smart car and complaining that you can't put 1000 pounds of 8 foot 4x4's in the trunk. If that is what you wanted then you should have bought a pick up truck or a trailer for your Smart.

No Rob. In the forum there is an option to "edit" a post you have already written. Essentially to revise it. If you "edit" that post either adding info or correcting grammar or spelling or for whatever reason, that correction is not sent through as a "new" email. So an email user will never get the correction or addition, while a forum user will see the corrected post as well as a line at the bottom that is automatically added saying the post was edited.
Probably not a major issue for email users, but occasionally you might miss something. In my case, the email users usually have to suffer through my atrocious grammar and spelling, while the forum users generally get to see a corrected version after I reread my own post when I read messages posted later in the thread. For some reason I seem to catch those atrocious mistakes much later... Even the preview button doesn't seem to help!

So if a Forum user edits a message he has sent in one has to scroll back to
that message to see the corrections and the line at the bottom.
Your grammatical and spelling errors pale into insignificance when compared
to some people!
There's a vendor in FL whose grammar and spelling errors add to the "charm"
of his messages. It is particularly interesting that his Mother was a
Librarian! ;-)
Then there's the Angry Jap (his words) over on the left coast that sends in
lots of invisible messages! ;-)

Almost Rob.
Actually the forum posts an edited msg as unread at the top of the list of msgs without identifying the changes. Just another advantage of the forum. I have very rarely used the option when it just makes sense, even at the expense of it not going out to email users.

One real advantage of the edit function -- you provide some info and a typo makes it erroneous. So in addition to sending out a correction you edit your original -- less chance for someone using the forum search function to pick up bad information.
