Hi,

I am considering buying an a/c leak tester. I am wondering will this one from harbor freight tools detect duracool?

Electronic Freon and Halogen Leak Detector Cen-Tech - item#92514

NO - it will not.
You have to have a detector that will detect hydrocarbons such as propane.

G'day,

I did a Google search for "General Tools NGD7201" which came up with this
link:

www.generaltools.com/NGD7201--PRECISION-GAS-LEAK-DETECTOR-GAS-DOG_p_866.html

On that link I found the manual:

http://www.generaltools.com/assets/images/manuals/NGD7201_Manual.pdf

In the manual I found:

Features:
Detects Methane and Propane gas

SPECIFICATIONS TABLE
Range: Methane - 120 to 1920 PPM
Propane - 40 to 640 PPM

Sensitivity: 40 ppm Propane

NICE FIND! Too bad it's sooo expensive.

Regards,
Rob M.

When I was searching I found a lot that were $400 to $1500 but I thought that was too much for the occasional user.

Gary,

Emery was "speaking" of the HF leak tester:

www.harborfreight.com/electronic-freon-and-halogen-leak-detector-92514.html

not:

www.amazon.com/General-Tools-NGD7201-Precision-Detector/dp/B001TON9KE

Which one do you have?

Regards,
Rob M.

Gary,

You must be a high roller to afford one of those!

Wait a minute I know that's true as you have a Cadillac in your GMC! ;-)
