I just ordered a case shipped to Atlanta from NC. no charge yet, but what you paid sounds reasonable, the only difference is shipping mine to yours. Question for the gurus: Is R12a compatible with the R12 Sirum put in it several years ago, or should I pull it down and replace all of it? It has lost charge slowly over the intervening four or five years, to the point that now I have to jump the low pressure switch to get the clutch to pull in. I dasn't run it like that of course, other than to check it's low. It had enough to run two weeks ago as well as all last summer.

Johnny,
Without claiming to be a guru of anything!:
Duracool/HC12a is supposedly directly compatible with R12. But considering
the advantages of the HC12a, I'd bleed off most the remaining R12, leaving
just enough to prevent any ambient air intrusion, and immediately replace
it with all HC12a. That also ensures that you can use our "standard" 20
psi low side pressure without worrying about whether the mixture has the
same characteristics.
