Hi All, I was just cleaning out my shed and came across an item someone
might be able to use. This came off my '77 Palm Beach it is a rear
bumper extension made to install a Propane Tank between the rear frame
and bumper. This was made to mount on the frame in the original holes
and had the Chrome bumper mounted to it. It will extend the rear bumper
by 10 inches. The unit is very heavy steel 75" wide with brackets welded
to it. This was professionally made at the time of the propane
conversion around the 1978 or so fuel shortages. When I bought the GMC I
removed the propane conversion and ended up using this as a four
bicycle rack. I took it off and put it away when I bought a hitch to
tow my MC trailer.
It will have to be picked up here in Long Island NY. Cannot be shipped since it weighs about 75 lbs.

Do you still have the propane conversion items?

Mark,

I sure hope you don't take offense at this but there is no way in Hades I'd install a propane tank between the rear frame and the
bumper of ANY vehicle. In fact it is ILLEGAL to do so here in Australia!

It seems to me to be common sense!

Regards,
Rob
