Well the wife told me to stop messing with the old intake and allowed me to buy aluminum one. So now that’s installed and this evening put on my new Sully air bags on. Life is good so far a running good and air bags holding. Now on to the exhaust and still have to pull out the old Onan and replace it with my Honda. I was hoping to take it from Houston to NC but just don't think I can have it all together in time. Looks like I may be renting an RV to take the trip but it so hard to do with so much time and effort in the GMC but work has not allowed me to do it in the time I hope to. I won't even bring up the second air conditioner that I still need install and also need to call Bob Price for some advice but it has been on the back burner to the other items. Thanks to all for the advice and support from everyone including our wonderful vendors.

Good to hear how well your projects are going.
Is the Onan bad or the Honda a "because I want to" change. I think John S in the Houston has experience with the Honda.

Onan is untested and had no fuel pump at all when I bought the GMC. So instead of fooling around with the old Onan I have a Honda EV6010 that I got a really good deal on.

Emery too funny she puts up with me and all my toys so can't complain too much (I still have cars in North Carolina that are not in Texas yet). I tend to over research everything and save money where I can. I have some Hardblok that I was going to fill the crossover with but the whole family is so ready to get this thing on the road. Just too bad I could not get it all in place to use it for this trip. We are pulling out end of the week probably without the GMC. It is at the exhaust shop today and now just needs a generator as in Texas too hot not to have the roof air on!

Emory: the trick to having a dominering wife is to find one that demands what you want. Then you are called a kept man or boy toy. The only difference in milk toast and french toast is a little egg.

When I read your email I thought that you either have a very domineering wife or she has a very milk toast husband. I hope neither is true but that is the tone of your statement.
I agree that it is good to have ones wife aboard in making major purchases but as to having to ask for permission - that's an entirely different matter.

Charley; there is a chance the fuel pump went bad on the onan and po took it off and that is as far as it got. Might be worth a try to gravity feed some gas and jump terminals 5&9 and see if it works?

I will see if that works once I get it back from the muffler shop tomorrow. I will end up putting in the Honda either way and just keep the Onan around the house if it works. What is it they say you marry for love the 1st time and for money the 2nd. I only plan on being married once so I guess I am out of luck on the sugar mama and as long as she puts up with me I am good.

I will be gentle with the old Onan and if it does not run I will be offering up to anyone that needs one for parts. At this rate there will not be an orginal part left on it.

That is where my coach came from. Disneyland (Anaheim, CA). I also found receipts from Las Vegas inside.

42 years so far on the first one. And after a year of ownership, I've convinced her to come along with me and a couple of the dogs in the GMC. I hedged my bet though, I'm parking it in a relatives' driveway - she can fade to the house if need be.

Well, if I tell my wife I am planning to buy something for the GMC and she says "that sounds good" I would call that having her aboard.
The same thing goes when she says she is planning to buy a new program for her embroidery machine for $4000 and I don't have any objections.
So, it works both ways.
