Any words of wisdom on why both headlights won't light up? I have marker and parking lights.
My plan is to check for power at the light socket tomorrow, in which case I may have lost the ground circuit.

Headlights are fed from the dimmer switch on the floor by your left foot.
Power comes from the headlamp switch to the dimmer switch, and it is
switched from low beam to high beam by the switch. from there, the wiring
goes to the headlamp female sockets. Check the dimmer switch for power when
the headlights are turned on, then go to the headlamps themselves, and from
there to the ground point on the firewall. That is the circuit for the
headlights.

Some headlight switches have internal self resetting circuit breakers built in. Does anyone know if the GMC oem switch is one of these?
Could be bad grounds.
Yep, time to dig out the volt meter.... It might be a good idea to look over the schematic.

The GMC switch does have an internal CB. The problem turned out to be a bad hi resistance connection on the power relay/buzzer. The head light switch does have two power feeds, one for the headlights and the other for the marker/parking lights.
